Body Armor is protective gear for Rugby players.

Body protection comes in a variety of styles and sizes depending on the amount of padding a player desires.  Many are shorter and cover only the shoulders and collarbone to allow for protection with a lot of breathability. Others are much longer and provide padding for most of the torso and upper arm but hold in more heat. The IRB requires that padding be soft and no more than 1 centimeter thick when uncompressed. While this isn't anything near the scale of American Football pads, rugby shoulder pads do take a good bit of the edge off of a lot of tackles.
